I too, am sorry. I lost my engagement ring once. Actually let me rephrase that. I didn't lose it, I just misplaced it then found it in an unusual place. I had set some of my jewelry down on the floor in my bedroom while doing some reorganizing and my puppy snuck in behind my back and ate it. It took me a while to realize what he had done, and I wasn't about to wait around to find out (if you know what I mean). So I took him into the vet, who did an x-ray. Sure enough, plain as day, there was my ring. The vet did the surgery and got my ring back but I wasn’t about to wear it anymore. So I kept it in its little baggie, and stuck it in a safe place because of it sentimental value. I learned my lesson about putting things on the floor with a puppy around. (If you're asking yourself why I put it on the floor, it was because I was reorganizing my jewelry boxes and I laid a good portion of my jewelry out so I could see it).
I'm not the only one in this relationship who has lost my ring though. My husband lost the ring I gave him. O.K. well he didn't really lose it, he ruined it. He's a mechanic and I kept that in mind while searching for his ring. I had originally bought him a titanium ring which is what the customer service rep at the jewelry store told me was, due to his occupation. And I’m sure you guessed, it got ruined. It got scratched up and finally it broke. So, as a sign of my affection I bought him a cheap band to keep on a necklace so that he would have something until we could find a new ring to replace his old titanium one. Yep he lost the cheap one too. So now I’m being smart. He is one of those men who actually do prefer to wear a ring. I did some research online and found a website called www.eternaltugsten.com that sells men’s wedding bands that are made out of Tungsten Carbide. I had never heard of tungsten carbide before but it has so far been really durable. Hopefully he won’t lose this one, and I have more faith that this one will not get ruined at work due to what it's made of. I hope it made you feel better to know that you’re not the only one who has lost a wedding ring. It's sad, I know.
